ABOUT THE ARTIST
Saejean Oh studied illustration at Art Center College of Art and Design and continues to live and work in Los Angeles, California. She is a member of Yello, Friends!, a collective formed at the end of her studies with another illustrator and two designers. Her work has appeared in Juxtapoz, Creative Quarterly, and has been exhibited in numerous group shows.
"I never had to fight to be an artist and art-making was always a fun, freeing, and bonding experience while growing up. My work plays the edge between child-like, carefree innocence and the intensity of an emotion's ability to overwhelm. Studying abroad in India brought me to the Motherland of Color and I was greatly inspired by the appreciation for beauty and joy in everyday life.
"I doodle and write, use my hand-me-down Grumbacher watercolors mixed with graphite, color pencil, collage, and gouache. I want my work to bring emotions to everyday life -- whether it be joy, humor, sadness, strangeness, or warmth -- and connect with the viewer as if we were face-to-face asking how the other was doing."
ABOUT THE PRINT
This print is made in-house using archival pigment inks on heavyweight 100% cotton fibre archival paper. Each print is numbered by hand and comes with the artist's signature printed in the border.
Edition dimensions reflect actual paper sizes, not the printed image itself. While we try to maximize image size on all prints, a minimum border of .5 inches is left to allow for easy framing.
